Efforts needed to better integrate family caregivers into health care teams

(RAND Corporation) An estimated 53 million family members and friends provide care assistance to loved ones in the United States, yet family caregivers face significant barriers coordinating their efforts with the formal health care team. A new study suggests changes the health care system can make to better integrate family members into the health care team.
